What is Open Rate?
The percentage of sent emails that the recipient opened at least once.
Understanding Open Rate
Open rate is a leading indicator of subject line effectiveness and inbox placement. Typical cold email open rates are 30–50% for well-warmed domains with good data. However, since Apple Mail Privacy Protection (MPP) introduced tracking pixel blocking in 2021, open rate data has become increasingly unreliable — reply rate is now the preferred primary metric.
